Modern fiber laser cutting machines are equipped with intelligent alarm systems to protect core components from damage. Operators often panic when error codes pop up on the control screen, stopping production suddenly. Most alarms do not represent serious breakdowns.
You can solve basic failures quickly with standard troubleshooting steps and resume production without waiting for after‑sales engineers.
Water Flow / Water Temperature Alarm
• This is one of the most frequent alarms triggered by the chiller.
• Possible causes include insufficient cooling water, blocked filter screens, dirty pipelines or abnormal ambient temperature.
• First, check the liquid level of the chiller water tank. Add deionized water if the water level is too low. Clean the filter to remove impurities that block water circulation.
• If the workshop temperature is extremely high, improve ventilation around the cooling unit. Restart the machine after the water temperature returns to the normal range.
• Never ignore this alarm, as overheating will burn the laser source permanently.
Gas Pressure Abnormal Alarm
• The system sends a warning when cutting oxygen, nitrogen or compressed air pressure is unstable.
• Check whether the gas cylinder valve is fully opened.
• Inspect the pressure‑reducing valve and all pipeline joints for air leakage.
• Remove dust and debris inside the gas filter.

Position / Axis Travel Limit Alarm

• Check whether the program drawing has oversized dimensions beyond the machine’s processing range.
• Clean guide rail debris which may block normal movement.
• Reset the alarm on the operation panel before continuing cutting tasks.
Laser Output Protection Alarm
• The laser source stops emitting light with a laser protection warning.
• First, check whether the protective lens is contaminated by spatter.
• A dirty lens will trigger laser self‑protection.
• Confirm the door safety switch of the laser cabinet is closed tightly.
• Check the drying agent status inside the laser module.
• If repeated protection alarms appear after simple cleaning, stop testing and contact professional technicians for further inspection.
Safety Door & Emergency Stop Alarm
• Emergency stop or safety door lock alarm locks all machine movements.
• Check whether the physical emergency button on the machine body or control panel is pressed down.
• Close all protective safety doors completely. Rotate the emergency knob clockwise to release the lock state, then reset the alarm on the system.
• Operators should confirm no staff stay inside the protective area before restarting processing.

• Record each alarm code and corresponding handling method in your factory operation notebook. Operators can deal with simple faults independently after familiarizing themselves with these basic solutions.
